Acer palmatum 'Higasayama'

‘Higasa yama’ is a vigorous, upright variegated Japanese maple with historic roots and exceptional beauty. Its spring display features bold green-veined leaves outlined in creamy white with hot pink edges, transitioning to vibrant orange and red in fall. Growing nearly a foot per year, it can reach 18 feet tall with a dense, narrow shape and low branching. This cultivar thrives in filtered light but can tolerate full sun, with some summer greening. Greenhouse-grown trees may appear greener initially but reveal full variegation outdoors. Its stunning colors and dramatic spring show make it a standout specimen tree. With consistent variegation and an elegant form, ‘Higasa yama’ is a striking addition to any landscape.
