'Yellow Cascade' leafs out with butter yellow leaves on pendulous cascading branches. In the fall ‘Yellow Cascade’ turns orange, then a brilliant shade of red. ‘Yellow Cascade’ is brand new so, to be safe, give 'Yellow Cascade' morning sun with protection from the hot afternoon sun for best color.
‘Yellow Cascade’ has a similar shape as ‘Ryusen’ except it has golden foliage. It has a heavily strong weeping habit that will reach the height you stake it to, then cascade from that point. Without staking, ‘Yellow Cascade’ may make an excellent groundcover. ‘Yellow Cascade’ was found and introduced by Talon Buchholz.

By constantly prowling about the Limited Availability Sale list, the guy I live with, has succeeded in acquiring, numerous JM’s ( that were on our ‘Must Have” List) and Acer p. 'Yellow Cascade’, was one of our most recent score’s. It was one of eight, 1-gallon Acers that arrived this week in a medium shipping box, 2 of which were 1 gallon-XL’s!
Arriving the day before Valentines Day, all of the trees were still, fully dormant. Good thing too, as the temperature here that morning was 13 degrees F with colder weather-to-come, in the forecast!
The packaging professionals, at MrMaple are wizards at their craft. All 8 trees were so superbly-tucked into that 1 box, not the slightest twig was broken on any tree, pure magic! The cold temperatures these trees were exposed to ( en-route to us ), had temporarily bent a couple of branches, into their short-term, “tucked-in” positions, however a little hand-working (come spring) will remedy that.
Once the buds start to swell, it will be un-potted, the rootball “opened-up” and root-pruned (if need be) and then repotted into a decorative ceramic pot, in which it can be moved about the garden, until it’s most “Happy Place” is found. Even though it's a High Graft, this lovely, young tree will be staked, to attain, much greater heights.
So happy, to finally welcome this buttery-yellow, stick-weeper to our garden.
Ordered a couple of trees. Despite being very well packaged, 'Yellow Cascade' had some minor damage during shipping. When I reached out to confirm the damage was minor, they immediately shipped out another (without me requesting it)! Beautiful plants! Prompt shipping. Amazing customer service!!
