Ulmus glabra 'Camperdownii'

Weeping Camperdown Umbrella Elm

Zones 4-8

Part Sun-Full Sun

Ulmus glabra 'Camperdownii' is a weeping dwarf elm that was found growing in the wild at Camperdown House in Dundee, Scotland. This elm is extremely beautiful with a strong weeping habit. This elm does not propagate from seed and must be grafted. All 'Campberdown' weeping umbrella elms originated from an elm found by David Taylor around 1835. A simple google search will show you some old specimens in differing growing conditions around the world.  In the fall, the leaves of the Camperdown elm go to a bright yellow. 'Camperdownii' may reach 8-10 ft in height and width in 10 years.
